Okayy ~ last week i had learnt about the nature of Strategic Management ;) ALHAMDULILLAH ~ oppsss ! sorry. Assalamualaikum reader :) HAHA ! firstly, let me list down the objectives of this chapter. For me, before we start study about something, we need to know what we can get at the end ^^ for me laa :D
There is SIX objectives of this chapter ^^ :

2.Explain
the need for integrating analysis and intuition in strategic management.
3.Define
and give examples of key terms in strategic management.
4.Discuss
the nature of strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation activities.
5.Describe the benefits of good
strategic management.
6.Discuss how a firm may achieve
sustained competitive advantage.

Strategic management means the art and science of formulating implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that enable an organization to achieve its objective. Strategic management is used synonymously with the term strategic planning :)
STAGES OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT..
strategy Formulation -----> strategy Implementation ----> strategy Evaluation
A strategic plan results from tough managerial choices among numerous good alternatives and its signals commitment to specific markets, policies, procedures and operations.
Strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation activities occur at three hierarchical levels in a large organization :
okayy ~ lastly, there is some benefit of strategic management. One of benefit of strategic management is to help organizations formulate better strategies through the use of a more systematic, logical, and rational approach to strategic choice :) Besides, Business using strategic management concept can improve in sales, profit and productivity . Moreover, there is financial benefit and non-financial benefit.
